Sodium Nitrite, Sodium Thiosulfate falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Thuja interacts with.

Thuja products can contains significant amounts of thujone, a neurotoxin. Theoretically, patients taking drugs that lower the seizure threshold might be at greater risk of seizure if they also take thuja. Advise patients taking these drugs to avoid thuja products. Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.

Here's the short version on combining Thuja with the sodium nitrite and sodium thiosulfate kit (Nithiodote). This combination is an emergency hospital antidote given by IV for cyanide poisoning, so it's not something you'd ever pair with a supplement at home. It's worth knowing the concern anyway. Thuja contains thujone, a compound that in concentrated amounts can irritate the nervous system and may lower the threshold for seizures.

The worry on file is purely theoretical and rests on weak, anecdotal evidence. In a true cyanide emergency, getting the antidote always comes first. If you ever use Thuja products on your own, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they have the full picture.
