Valbenazine Tosylate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Ingrezza (valbenazine): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this medicine down. Lab studies suggest that triptolide, one of the active compounds in thunder god vine, may slow that same enzyme. If it does, valbenazine could clear out of your system more slowly and build up, which might mean stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like sleepiness, dizziness, a fast or irregular heartbeat (QT changes), or worsening Parkinson-like symptoms.

I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical. It comes from test-tube research and hasn't actually been reported in people. Even so, since thunder god vine itself can be toxic, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining the two.

Valbenazine — sold as Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle — is approved for two conditions in adults. The first is tardive dyskinesia, a movement disorder that causes uncontrolled, repetitive facial or body movements, often brought on by long-term use of certain psychiatric medications. The second is chorea associated with Huntington's disease, which refers to the involuntary, dance-like jerking movements that are a hallmark of that condition.

Both Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle are approved for both of these uses.
