Some foods, particularly those high in fiber or containing certain minerals like calcium or iron, can bind to thyroid hormones and reduce their absorption in the digestive tract. Additionally, taking thyroid medications with certain drugs, like antacids or calcium supplements, can hinder the effectiveness of the thyroid medication, necessitating adjustments in dosage or timing. Prescription thyroid medications, such as Synthroid, are recommended to be taken on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food and other medications, for optimal absorption.

Here's the good news: this one is pretty low-stakes. The interaction on file is about foods and certain pills (like fiber, calcium, or iron) getting in the way of how your body absorbs thyroid hormone. Glucose, whether it's a sugary drink, glucose tablets you chew for a low blood sugar, or glucose given through an IV, doesn't bind up thyroid hormone or block it the way those minerals can.

So taking glucose alongside thyroid extract isn't expected to cause a real problem. If anything, just keep the general rule in mind: thyroid products absorb best on an empty stomach, away from food and other supplements. Since over-the-counter thyroid extract is unpredictable in strength, I'd still loop in your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
