Advanced Probiotic-14 Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Advanced Probiotic-14 against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Advanced Probiotic-14 contains 14 active probiotic ingredients — a mix of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species plus Streptococcus thermophilus. These are live microorganisms designed to support your gut flora.
The inactive ingredients are cellulose, gelatin, and magnesium stearate, which are standard capsule fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for this blend is mixed. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and may help with antibiotic-associated diarrhea and bacterial vaginosis.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is also possibly effective for respiratory tract infections. However, for most of the other conditions the individual strains have been studied for — like allergic rhinitis, anxiety, asthma, and cognitive decline — the evidence is insufficient to rate them.
Streptococcus thermophilus has insufficient evidence for all the conditions on file. We don't hold effectiveness data for Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus brevis, or Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. Common side effects are mild and uncommon — bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea have been reported with probiotic use, though rarely with individual strains.
A more serious but very rare concern: live probiotic organisms can, in rare cases, cause blood infections (bacteremia) and sepsis, mainly in critically ill patients, those with weakened immune systems, preterm infants, or people with central venous catheters. If you're seriously ill or immunocompromised, talk with your doctor before starting.
Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Streptococcus thermophilus, and Bifidobacterium breve are rated possibly safe in pregnancy. For lactation, safety data are limited; check with your doctor or pharmacist.
We hold no pregnancy or lactation data for Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus brevis, Lactobacillus gasseri, or Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, check your specific medication on this page before starting — antibiotics can reduce how well this probiotic works. Separate your doses by several hours.
We hold no interaction data for eight of the 14 strains in this blend, so mention all your medications to your pharmacist.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, and respiratory infections, though evidence is limited for most other uses. If you take antibiotics, space them away from this product — don't take them at the same time.
If you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.
