What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ceylon Cinnamon against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Ceylon Cinnamon, a spice that's been studied for various health effects. The capsules also contain rice flour and cellulose as inactive ingredients (binders and fillers).
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for Ceylon cinnamon is mixed and often limited. For obesity and diabetes, the data we hold rates it as possibly ineffective — meaning studies haven't found strong proof it works for these conditions.
For hay fever, COPD, and the common cold, we don't have enough reliable evidence yet to say whether it helps or doesn't. If you're considering it for any of these reasons, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about what the science actually supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ceylon cinnamon taken by mouth is generally well tolerated, and serious side effects are uncommon. The most frequent complaints in studies are bloating, indigestion (dyspepsia), and nausea — usually mild.
There are rare case reports of allergic reactions (rashes, itching, skin irritation) and one unusual case of bleeding in a patient who took very large amounts for months. Food amounts of cinnamon are considered likely safe in pregnancy; however, supplement doses in pregnancy are rated likely unsafe, and breastfeeding safety at supplement doses isn't well studied — stick to food amounts if you're pregnant or nursing, and ask your pharmacist if you're unsure.

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ceylon cinnamon is generally tolerated well as a spice, but supplement doses are less studied than everyday use. If you take blood pressure or diabetes medication, check your specific drugs with the tool on this page before starting.
Pregnant women should avoid supplement doses. Talk with your pharmacist about whether this supplement fits your health goals.

Ceylon Cinnamon by ZHOU Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ceylon Cinnamon by ZHOU has documented interactions with two important medication types.
The main concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs), where Ceylon cinnamon may work similarly to how your drugs work and raise the risk of blood pressure dropping too low (hypotension). The second is with diabetes medications, where Ceylon cinnamon may also have additive effects and could theoretically lower your blood sugar further, potentially requiring dose adjustments.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although these are listed as Moderate-severity interactions, the effects are described as theoretical — meaning they're based on how the supplement behaves in the body, not on widespread reports of actual problems in people taking both at once. That said, if you're on blood pressure or diabetes medication, you'll want to run your exact drugs through the checker on this page before starting.
Altogether, these interactions span 258 individual medications.
