What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Coenzyme Q10 at 300 mg per capsule. CoQ10 is a compound your body makes naturally and uses in cells to produce energy and protect against oxidative stress.
It also appears in foods like meat and fish, and levels can decline with age or certain medications. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — maltodextrin, magnesium stearate, gelatin, and titanium dioxide — which are fillers, binders, and the capsule material itself.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence for CoQ10 varies by condition. It's rated Likely Effective for CoQ10 deficiency — meaning if your levels are genuinely low, supplementation addresses that.
For fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy, the evidence is Possibly Effective, so there's promise but the research isn't definitive yet. If you're considering this for a specific health goal, talk with your doctor about whether the evidence supports it for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated in adults when taken as directed. In clinical studies, no serious side effects have been reported.
The most common issues are mild gastrointestinal symptoms — appetite suppression, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, or vomiting — occurring in less than 1% of people; splitting doses above 100 mg daily may help. Headache, dizziness, insomnia, and in rare cases skin itching or allergic rash have been reported.
There isn't enough safety data to know how safe CoQ10 is in pregnancy, so the guidance is to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety during breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; talk with your doctor before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications before starting if you take warfarin or other blood thinners (Moderate concern — CoQ10 may reduce their effect), chemotherapy drugs that work through free radicals like cyclophosphamide (Moderate concern — CoQ10's antioxidant effects might lower their effectiveness), or blood pressure medications (Minor concern — CoQ10 may add to the blood-pressure-lowering effect).
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 may be worth considering if you have a CoQ10 deficiency or want to explore it for migraine, heart failure, or nerve pain — but the evidence is stronger for deficiency than other uses. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication, you must check with us or your doctor first.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding warrant a conversation with your pharmacist or doctor.

Co Enzyme Q10 300 mg by SimplySupplements Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
SimplySupplements CoQ10 300 mg contains one active ingredient — Coenzyme Q10 — that has documented interactions with certain medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners like warfarin (Coumadin). CoQ10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may reduce warfarin's ability to thin your blood; a small number of cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness linked to CoQ10 have been reported.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chemotherapy drugs that work by generating free radicals — such as alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide — are also a Moderate concern. CoQ10's antioxidant effects might theoretically protect cancer cells from these drugs' damage, potentially reducing their effectiveness.
Blood pressure medications warrant a Minor caution: some research shows CoQ10 can lower blood pressure, which could add to your medication's effect.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. If you take any of these drug types — or any prescription medication at all — check your exact medications with the search tool on this page before you start.

For each ingredient in Co Enzyme Q10 300 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
