Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains a single active ingredient: cucumber extract (the whole plant or its seed, depending on the manufacturer's source). Cucumber is a widely eaten vegetable that's been used traditionally for a range of conditions.

The extract concentrate is what you're getting here—not the fresh vegetable you'd eat in a salad. There are no other inactive ingredients listed.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Cucumber product and its label doesn't state a use — see Cucumber's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence for cucumber extract doesn't establish that it works reliably for any of the conditions listed here—burns, diabetes, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), high blood pressure (hypertension), or osteoarthritis. All of these carry a rating of insufficient evidence in our data, which means the research so far hasn't been strong enough to say whether it helps.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data

Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Cucumber eaten as food is very well tolerated and causes no safety concerns. Cucumber extract and seed extract also appear to be well tolerated orally.

The most common side effects are topical (allergic eczema, redness, irritation if applied to skin). A rare serious effect—anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction)—has been reported once, in someone who ate a partially peeled cucumber; symptoms included dizziness, vomiting, trouble breathing, and itching.

Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding hasn't been studied for concentrated extracts, only for cucumber as food. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether to use this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Cucumber.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 86 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take any antidiabetes medication—insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, or any other diabetes drug—check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product. Cucumber seed extract can lower blood glucose levels, and combining it with your medication may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).

Close monitoring of your blood glucose will be important if you decide to use this together.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Cucumber extract is generally well tolerated as a supplement and appears safe in people who aren't allergic to cucumber. The main caution is if you take antidiabetes medication—the extract may lower blood sugar further, so you'll need to monitor closely and check with your doctor first.

There's no reliable evidence it works for any specific health condition listed here. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a known cucumber allergy, talk with your pharmacist before using it.

Cucumber Extract by BulkSupplements.com: Common Questions

Does Cucumber Extract by BulkSupplements.com interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Cucumber Extract has a known interaction with 86 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Cucumber Extract contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Does cucumber extract actually help with diabetes?
The evidence isn't strong enough to say. Animal research shows cucumber seed extract can lower blood glucose, which is promising, but we don't have reliable human studies proving it works for diabetes itself. That's why it's rated as insufficient evidence in our data.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
There isn't enough data on concentrated cucumber extracts in pregnancy or breastfeeding to know either way. Eating fresh cucumber is fine, but this supplement hasn't been studied. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice based on your situation.
What are the side effects of cucumber extract?
Most people tolerate it well when taken by mouth. Topically (on skin), the most common reactions are allergic eczema, redness, and irritation. A very rare serious reaction—anaphylaxis with breathing trouble—has been reported once in someone with a severe cucumber allergy.
Does this product contain any fillers or other inactive ingredients?
No. This is just cucumber extract with no other inactive ingredients listed.
Will this lower my blood pressure or cholesterol?
We don't have reliable evidence it does either. Both high blood pressure and high cholesterol are listed here with insufficient evidence ratings, meaning the research isn't established enough to say it helps.
