Niacin
Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is a water-soluble vitamin found in a variety of foods, including meat, poultry, fish, and fortified grains. It plays a variety of roles in the body, including in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It is also necessary for the production of energy in the body and in the synthesis of different hormones. Niacin deficiency is rare in developed countries, however, supplementation has been shown to have several positive benefits. For example, it can reduce the risk of diabetic neuropathy (i.e., nerve pain) and has been shown effective for treating some types of high cholesterol (extended-release niacin is used as a prescription drug in the United States for this purpose). There is a multitude of niacin forms available as dietary supplements, including NADH, niacinamide, and nicotinamide riboside, all with different properties.

Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin crucial for several bodily functions. It plays a pivotal role in the formation of red blood cells, aiding in the prevention of anemia. Vitamin B12 is essential for maintaining a healthy nervous system and proper brain function, as it is involved in the synthesis of myelin, the protective sheath around nerve fibers. This vitamin is primarily found in animal-based foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, and eggs, making it important for vegetarians and vegans to consider supplementation. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to neurological issues, fatigue, and cognitive impairment.

Chromium
Chromium is a trace mineral that is found in small amounts in the human body. It is believed to play a role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It is used as a dietary supplement for its purported ability to help with weight loss and blood sugar control. There is some evidence to suggest that chromium supplements may help to improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes, although the results of studies on this topic have been mixed. Some studies have found that chromium supplements can improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar levels in those with poorly controlled diabetes, while others have found no significant effects.

Boron Glycinate
Boron is a trace mineral that is found in a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes. It is also available as a dietary supplement. Boron is thought to play a role in bone health, as it may help the body metabolize calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Some preliminary research also suggests that boron may have anti-inflammatory effects and may help to improve cognitive function. However, more research is needed to confirm these potential benefits. It is important to note that boron is not an essential nutrient and deficiency is rare. The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for boron is not established, however, the safe upper limit is 20mg/day. Taking high doses of boron can cause skin irritation, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. There are several patented forms of boron available in dietary supplements, such as Albion Bororganic Glycine.

Guarana extract
Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is a plant native to the Amazon rainforest in South America. The seeds of the guarana plant are used in traditional medicine and as a dietary supplement. Guarana is often marketed as a natural stimulant and is claimed to improve physical performance, increase energy and alertness, and reduce fatigue. It is sometimes added to energy drinks, weight loss supplements, and other products. Guarana seeds typically contain around 3-6% caffeine, although some extracts may contain far more. Guarana, when used in dietary supplements, is often standardized for its caffeine and tannin content.

Green Tea extract
Green tea is a type of tea that is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is native to Asia and is widely consumed throughout the world. Green tea has a mild, slightly grassy flavor and is typically lighter in color and less astringent than black tea. Green tea is a rich source of antioxidants, particularly a group of compounds called catechins. These antioxidants are thought to help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Green tea is also a good source of other nutrients, including vitamin C and several B vitamins. Green tea is often consumed for a number of purported health benefits including reducing the risk of heart disease, immune-stimulating effects, and weight loss. Oral green tea supplements, containing dried powder, are most often utilized for the caffeine content and used as an appetite suppressant for weight loss.

Eleuthero extract
Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is a plant native to Asia and a member of the Araliaceae family. It is also commonly known as 'Siberian ginseng' or 'eleuthero root'. The root of the plant is used in traditional medicine for its purported ability to improve physical and mental performance, boost the immune system, and reduce fatigue. It is also claimed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Eleuthero is often referred to as an 'adaptogen'. Adaptogens are believed to help the body resist stress. It is important to note that although eleuthero is known as 'Siberian ginseng', it is not related to Panax ginseng.

It is native to India, and is used to treat a variety of conditions, including stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Some studies have also suggested that ashwagandha may have potential health benefits for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. However, more research is needed. Ashwagandha is often referred to as an adaptogenic herb, which is theorized to help the body to adapt to stress.

Formula |
- Andrew Lessman's Energy and Fat Metabolism Factors is designed to safely enhance energy levels and promote fat burning metabolism while also providing a general sense of well-being. Most importantly, unlike typical formulas, it does so without deceptive or harmful ingredients. This formula's comprehensive fat-burning support begins with optimum levels of B-complex vitamins, along with trace minerals such as chromium, as well as all-important carnitine, without which, no fat could be transported or burned. This formula also includes lysine and vitamin C to further support your body's internal production of essential carnitine. We also provide extracts of green tea and guarana as mild, natural sources of caffeine-related compounds. These botanicals have a long history of traditional use to enhance energy and well-being. To further combat fatigue and promote feelings of well-being, we also include standardized extracts of the adaptogenic herbs, Panax ginseng, eleutherococcus, and ashwagandha. These plant extracts have long been used to support the body's ability to adapt and recover from physical and mental stress, such as diet, exercise and weight-loss. These nutrients and extracts can help us compensate for the natural slowing of our body's metabolism and the fatigue that occurs when we diet, exercise and reduce our caloric intake. We also include the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine because of their role in preserving lean muscle tissue during exercise. In short, our Energy and Fat Metabolism Factors supplies natural tools to help you safely maximize your weight-loss potential when you have made the commitment to lose weight via a sensible regime of diet and exercise.
