Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product has 2 active ingredients: Saccharomyces boulardii, a beneficial yeast that supports digestive health, and Pediococcus acidilactici, another probiotic bacterium. The capsules also contain lactose, gelatin, and acerola powder as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Saccharomyces boulardii is possibly effective for several types of diarrhea—rotaviral, traveler's, and antibiotic-associated—as well as for recovery from necrotizing enterocolitis and Clostridioides difficile infection. It's also possibly effective against Helicobacter pylori.
For Pediococcus acidilactici, we don't hold effectiveness data. These ratings mean the evidence suggests benefit, but more research would strengthen confidence.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Saccharomyces boulardii is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but it should be avoided if you're critically ill or immunocompromised—rare cases of serious yeast infection (fungemia) have occurred in those populations, especially in ICU settings or with central lines. Rarely, it can cause mild gastrointestinal complaints like cramping, gas, nausea, or loss of appetite.
There isn't enough safety data for pregnancy or lactation—talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing. We don't hold safety information for Pediococcus acidilactici.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
If you take antifungal medications (Minor interaction), space them away from the probiotic if possible and check with your pharmacist about the best timing. No other major medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic may help if you have diarrhea from travel, antibiotics, or certain infections. If you take antifungals, check with your pharmacist about timing.
If you're immunocompromised or critically ill, speak with your doctor first—the safety data is limited for those situations.
