Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 11 ingredients, including several species of beneficial bacteria—Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Bacillus coagulans, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium longum infantis, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus casei—along with Jerusalem Artichoke. These live organisms are the active ingredients meant to support your gut health.
The inactive ingredients are hypromellose, cellulose, and water, which form the capsule and help deliver the probiotics.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The probiotics in this blend show mixed evidence depending on what you're taking it for. Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bacillus coagulans are each rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Lactobacillus acidophilus is also possibly effective for antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, and Helicobacter pylori infection. Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation as well.
For many other conditions—hay fever, anxiety, asthma, cognitive decline—the evidence we have on file is insufficient to say whether these probiotics work. The data doesn't rate effectiveness for Jerusalem Artichoke in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. Some users have reported bloating, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort—though these are uncommon.
There have been rare cases of serious infection (bacteremia or sepsis) in critically ill or immunocompromised patients, including preterm infants, but these are not common in people with intact immune systems. If you're seriously ill, have a weakened immune system, or use an indwelling catheter, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are rated possibly safe in pregnancy, and Bifidobacterium longum is rated possibly safe in both pregnancy and lactation. For the other ingredients, pregnancy and lactation safety data aren't on file, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist about timing—you'll want to separate when you take them from when you take this probiotic, since antibiotics can reduce the probiotic's effectiveness. No other drug interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help with IBS, certain types of diarrhea, or constipation, though the evidence varies by ingredient and condition. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to space them apart from this product so the antibiotic doesn't kill off the beneficial bacteria.
People who are severely ill or immunocompromised should check with their doctor first. Talk with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting to make sure it's right for your situation.

Probiotic 42.5 by TransFormation Professional Protocol Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiotic 42.5 by TransFormation Professional Protocol contains several live-organism probiotics—Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Bacillus coagulans, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and Bifidobacterium longum infantis—that interact with antibiotic drugs.
All of these interactions are Moderate in severity. The concern is the same across them: antibiotics can kill off a significant number of the live organisms in the probiotic, reducing how well the probiotic works.
That's why the data advises separating when you take them—don't take your antibiotic and this probiotic at the same time.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Because these six ingredients all carry the same interaction type and severity, the total effect is on one drug category: antibiotic drugs. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Several ingredients in this product—Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, and Jerusalem Artichoke—we could not check for interactions. Before you start this product, run your exact medications through the interaction checker on this page, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about timing if you're on an antibiotic.
