What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Probiotic Broad Spectrum 10 Billion CFU against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains 11 active ingredients: nine different probiotic bacterial strains (Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus casei), plus Fructo-Oligosaccharides, which is a prebiotic fiber that may help feed the beneficial bacteria. The tablet also contains inactive ingredients like microcrystalline cellulose, pectin, sodium carbonate, and several others that serve as binders and flow agents.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus, the data shows they're possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and for preventing or treating antibiotic-associated diarrhea — a common problem when you're on antibiotics. L. acidophilus is also possibly effective against Helicobacter pylori infection and bacterial vaginosis.
For most other conditions listed — including hay fever, cognitive decline, anxiety, constipation, and diabetes — the evidence we hold is either insufficient or the ingredient showed no benefit in trials. Streptococcus thermophilus and Bifidobacterium longum have insufficient evidence for the conditions reviewed; Bifidobacterium breve actually showed possibly ineffective for age-related cognitive decline and sepsis.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. The most common side effects reported across probiotic use are bloating and flatulence, though these haven't been specifically tied to all ingredients in this blend.
Rare cases of gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal pain, and diarrhea have been reported. There's a rare but documented risk of bacterial infection (bacteremia or sepsis) in people with weakened immune systems, critically ill patients, preterm infants, or those with central lines or catheters — so if you fall into any of those categories, talk with your doctor before starting.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bifidobacterium longum are rated possibly safe, though lactation data for most are incomplete. There isn't enough data on file for the other bacterial strains to say either way — discuss with your doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Antibiotic drugs are the main concern — they're rated Moderate severity because they can kill off the live bacteria in this supplement, making it less effective. Separate your antibiotics from this probiotic by at least a few hours.
No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we were able to check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This broad-spectrum probiotic may help with IBS and antibiotic-related diarrhea if you choose a strain with decent evidence behind it. If you take antibiotics, separate them from this product by a few hours — the drugs will kill the live cultures otherwise.
People with weakened immunity, critical illness, or central lines should clear it with their doctor first. Talk with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or have any serious health conditions.

Probiotic Broad Spectrum 10 Billion CFU by Progressive Professional from Progressive Laboratories Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Probiotic Broad Spectrum 10 Billion CFU from Progressive Laboratories contains live bacterial cultures, and some of them — Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Bifidobacterium longum — interact with antibiotic drugs.
All four show a Moderate-severity interaction: antibiotics can kill off the live organisms in the probiotic, reducing how well the supplement works. The solution is straightforward — separate when you take them by a few hours.

Additionally, we couldn't check five of the other bacterial strains in this formula because we hold no interaction data for them: Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus fermentum, and Lactobacillus casei. We also have no data on Fructo-Oligosaccharides, a prebiotic ingredient in the blend.
Streptococcus thermophilus, another active ingredient, was checked and shows no interactions documented in our data — though that's not a guarantee none exist.
Additionally, use the medication search tool on this page to check your exact prescriptions before you start.
