Puricleanse contains 11 ingredients: eight live probiotic bacteria strains (Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum, Ligilactobacillus salivarius, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, Limosilactobacillus fermentum, and Limosilactobacillus reuteri), senna leaf extract as a stimulant laxative, and two others we couldn't check. The inactive ingredients are cellulose and brown rice flour.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The probiotics show the most promise. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum are each rated Possibly Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS); L. acidophilus also has Possibly Effective ratings for Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus is Possibly Effective for atopic dermatitis (eczema) and antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Limosilactobacillus reuteri is Possibly Effective for cholesterol, colic, H. pylori, abdominal pain, and constipation.
Senna leaf extract is Likely Effective for constipation and Possibly Effective for bowel preparation. For most other claimed uses—respiratory infections, hay fever, anxiety, cognitive decline—the evidence is Insufficient or the data we hold shows no rating.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though those with weakened immune systems should be cautious because rare cases of bacterial infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have been reported, mostly in critically ill or premature patients. Senna is generally safe for short-term occasional use but not for long-term daily use without medical advice.
Common side effects from the probiotics can include bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea, though these are uncommon. Senna commonly causes abdominal pain, cramps, diarrhea, and nausea; rare skin reactions have also been reported.
Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus are rated Possibly Safe in pregnancy; Bifidobacterium longum, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, and Limosilactobacillus reuteri are rated Possibly Safe in both pregnancy and lactation. Senna is rated Possibly Safe in both pregnancy and lactation.

Bifidobacterium bifidum
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Lactobacillus acidophilus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.

Theoretically, taking Lactiplantibacillus plantarum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. plantarum.

Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. rhamnosus.
L. rhamnosus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. rhamnosus preparations by at least two hours.

Limosilactobacillus reuteri
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Limosilactobacillus reuteri with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. reuteri.
L. reuteri preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. reuteri preparations by at least two hours.
Senna Leaf Extract
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, senna might increase the risk of adverse effects when taken with digoxin.
Overuse/abuse of senna increases the risk of adverse effects from cardiac glycosides, such as digoxin, due to potassium depletion.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, senna might increase the risk of hypokalemia when taken with diuretic drugs.
Overuse of senna might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss and increase the risk for hypokalemia.
Estrogens
Theoretically, taking senna may interfere with the absorption of exogenous estrogens.
Some preliminary clinical evidence suggests that senna reduces the absorption of estradiol and decreases serum concentrations of estrone and estrone sulfate by decreasing intestinal transit time.
Stimulant Laxatives
Theoretically, senna might increase the risk for fluid and electrolyte loss when taken with other stimulant laxatives.
Senna is a stimulant laxative; concomitant use with other stimulant laxatives might compound fluid and electrolyte loss.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, excessive use of senna might increase the effects of warfarin.
Senna has stimulant laxative effects and can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea can increase the effects of warfarin, increase international normalized ratio (INR), and increase the risk of bleeding. In one case report, excessive use of senna for 3 weeks resulted in diarrhea, bloody stools, and an elevated INR of 11.9.
