What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 (also called CoQ10), a compound your body makes naturally and uses to fuel your cells' energy production. At 100 mg per softgel, it's a common dose for supplements.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients — rice bran oil, gelatin, and glycerin — that help deliver the CoQ10 and keep it stable.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
CoQ10 is likely effective for replacing CoQ10 that your body is deficient in — this is the best-studied use. It's possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy, meaning the evidence suggests a benefit but isn't conclusive yet.
If you're considering it for one of these conditions, talk with your doctor about whether the evidence fits your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 taken by mouth is generally well tolerated. In clinical studies, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
The most common side effects — appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — occur in less than 1% of people. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely.
A small number of people have reported skin itching or allergic rash. There isn't enough data on safety during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor says otherwise.
Safety data while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied — check with your doctor before using it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin (or other blood thinners) — CoQ10 may reduce its effectiveness. Also flag it if you take chemotherapy drugs like cyclophosphamide, or blood pressure medications, since CoQ10 may interfere with how they work.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 may help if you're deficient in it or have fibromyalgia, migraines, heart failure, or diabetic nerve pain, though the evidence is stronger for deficiency. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure drugs, you'll need to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first.
It's generally well tolerated, but talk it over with your own healthcare provider before you start.

Rapid-Release CoQ10 100 mg by Spring Valley Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Spring Valley's Rapid-Release CoQ10 can interact with a few important medication types.
The main concern is warfarin (a blood thinner), where CoQ10 may reduce how well the drug works — there are four reported cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness. Because CoQ10 is chemically similar to vitamin K, it may have blood-clotting effects that work against warfarin's job.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 also interacts with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide). Since CoQ10 has antioxidant effects, it might theoretically reduce how well these cancer drugs work — they rely on creating free radicals to kill tumor cells.
Additionally, CoQ10 may have additive effects with blood pressure medications, which could lower your blood pressure further than intended — though the evidence on this is mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure drugs, run your exact medications through the checker on this page before you start, and talk with your own doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you.

For each ingredient in Rapid-Release CoQ10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
