Budesonide, Formoterol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group 1,3-dmaa interacts with.

1,3-DMAA strongly inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzymes in vitro. Theoretically, 1,3-DMAA can increase levels of CYP2D6 substrates. Some of drugs that are CYP2D6 substrates include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the thing I'd want you to know about pairing DMAA with Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol). The lab note on file says DMAA may block an enzyme called CYP2D6, which could let certain drugs build up. But honestly, that's a side issue here. Formoterol, the part of Symbicort that opens your airways, is itself a stimulant-like medicine that can speed up your heart and cause jitteriness or palpitations.

DMAA is a powerful, FDA-banned stimulant that raises blood pressure and heart rate. Stacking it on top of formoterol could really pile on those heart effects. My honest advice: steer clear of DMAA entirely, and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything with Symbicort.
