Pseudoephedrine Sulfate falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group 1,3-dmaa interacts with.

1,3-DMAA is thought to have stimulant effects. There is concern that taking 1,3-DMAA with stimulant drugs might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects. Some preliminary research shows that taking 1,3-DMAA 50 mg daily in combination with caffeine 250 mg daily does not increase respiratory rate, blood pressure, or other cardiovascular outcomes compared to taking caffeine alone in healthy men. However, a number of cardiovascular side effects have been reported for patients taking 1,3-DMAA in combination with other stimulants including caffeine. Theoretically, combining 1,3-DMAA with stimulant drugs might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects. Some stimulant drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, diethylpropion (Tenuate), methylphenidate, phentermine (Ionamin), pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, others), and many others.

Here's the simple version: both pseudoephedrine and DMAA rev up your body's 'fight or flight' system. Pseudoephedrine narrows blood vessels and can nudge up your blood pressure and heart rate on its own. DMAA does a very similar thing, so stacking them together can pile those effects on top of each other.

That means a bigger chance of feeling jittery, a pounding or racing heart, trouble sleeping, and most importantly, higher blood pressure. This concern is mostly theoretical, based on how these two work rather than solid studies on the exact pair. But honestly, DMAA itself has been linked to serious heart problems and was pulled from supplements by the FDA, so I'd steer clear of it entirely. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining stimulants.

What Is Pseudoephedrine Used For?

Brand names: Drixoral N.D., Afrinol

Pseudoephedrine temporarily relieves nasal congestion and sinus pressure caused by the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. Most products also relieve sinus congestion and pressure, and help restore easier breathing through the nose.

Children's Sudafed oral solution additionally promotes nasal and/or sinus drainage. The Nasal Decongestant tablet specifically notes that it temporarily restores freer breathing through the nose.
