Drug & supplement interaction

1,3-dmaa + Rituximab-Abbs

Rituximab-Abbs brand name: Truxima.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between 1,3-dmaa and Rituximab-Abbs in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

1,3-dmaa and Rituximab-Abbs

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Rituximab-Abbs and 1,3-dmaa in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

1,3-dmaa safety at a glance

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Rituximab-Abbs

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Rituximab-Abbs is filed under a single classification — immunosuppressants. 1,3-dmaa has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 2d6 (cyp2d6) substrates (moderate) and stimulant drugs (moderate) — and none of Rituximab-Abbs’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What to actually watch for

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests 1,3-dmaa and Rituximab-Abbs May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so taking both can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do. 6 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

“Due to the stimulant effects of 1,3-DMAA, there is concern that it might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular events similar to synephrine from bitter orange or ephedrine from ephedra. Cardiovascular outcomes have rarely been assessed in patients taking 1,3-DMAA alone. Most adverse effects are linked to 1,3-DMAA-containing combination products.”

Showing the 10 most notable of 23 shared effects — ranked by how unusual each one is, not just whether both lists mention it.

Reported for 1,3-dmaa but not commonly for Rituximab-Abbs: an irregular heartbeat, blurred vision, a stroke or mini-stroke and trouble passing urine.

Effects for Rituximab-Abbs come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for 1,3-dmaa come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 4,838 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Rituximab-Abbs that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

“If a supplement promises to boost the immune system, chances are it appears somewhere on this page. Rituximab-Abbs (Truxima) works by quieting part of the immune response, clearing the B cells that drive certain cancers and autoimmune conditions, so every interaction here is the same basic conflict, an immune-stimulating ingredient tha…”

About 1,3-dmaa

What is 1,3-dmaa?

1,3-dmaa
  • Energy and stimulation
  • Pre-workout performance
  • Weight loss
  • Appetite suppression
  • Focus and concentration

DMAA (1,3-dimethylamylamine) is a synthetic stimulant that was sold in pre-workout and weight-loss supplements but has been linked to serious harm, including high blood pressure, heart problems, strokes, and deaths. The U.S. FDA and regulators in many countries have declared it illegal and unsafe in dietary supplements, so it should be avoided.

Synthetic compound (not a true plant part); sometimes claimed to come from geranium · Capsules, tablets, pre-workout powders (often as a hidden ingredient)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether 1,3-dmaa is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our 1,3-dmaa record says about it on its own.

1,3-dmaa: dosing

There is no safe or established dose of DMAA. It is not approved as a dietary supplement ingredient, and we do not recommend taking it in any amount.Because DMAA may be hidden in some products, the safest approach is to avoid pre-workout or weight-loss supplements that list ingredients like dimethylamylamine, methylhexanamine, or Geranamine.
