Ethinyl Estradiol, Norethindrone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Aegeline interacts with.

Aegeline inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, aegeline may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use aegeline cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.

Your birth control pill combines ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone, and your liver clears these hormones partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, aegeline appears to slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let your hormone levels drift a little higher, which sometimes shows up as nausea, breast tenderness, bloating, or breakthrough spotting.

Here's the honest part: this is only lab data, and it has never been reported in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. My bigger worry is aegeline itself, since it's been linked to serious liver injury and U.S. regulators warned against products containing it. I'd skip aegeline entirely and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
