American hellebore, also known as Veratrum viride, contains alkaloids that can potentially prolong the QT interval on an electrocardiogram (ECG). Combining American hellebore with other drugs that cause QT-prolongation can increase the risk of adverse effects.

Here's the concern with pairing American Hellebore and ezogabine (Potiga). Ezogabine can stretch out the QT interval, which is the time your heart takes to reset between beats. American Hellebore contains powerful toxic alkaloids that can do the same thing, plus they can drop your heart rate and blood pressure to dangerous levels. Stack those two together and you raise the odds of a rare but serious rhythm problem called torsades de pointes, which can cause fainting, palpitations, or worse.

This isn't about how the body breaks ezogabine down, it's about two things tugging on your heart rhythm at once. Honestly, American Hellebore is genuinely poisonous and isn't a safe self-care supplement to begin with. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using anything that contains it.
