Here's the simple version: when you cut carbs way down on an Atkins-style plan, your blood sugar naturally runs lower because you're not eating the foods that push it up. Your NovoRapid (rapid-acting insulin) is dosed to cover the carbs and sugar you take in. So if the carbs drop but your insulin dose stays the same, the two can stack on top of each other and pull your sugar too low. That's hypoglycemia, and with a fast insulin like this it can come on quickly, bringing shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or worse if untreated.

This is a theoretical, expert-opinion concern, not a strict warning, but it's a real and reasonable one. The good news is it usually means you may need less insulin, not more. Please don't change your dose on your own. Check your blood sugar often and let your doctor or pharmacist adjust things safely.
