Bacillus Subtilis + Clofazimine
Clofazimine brand name: Lamprene.
Bacillus Subtilis has a moderate interaction with Clofazimine. Theoretically, taking Bacillus subtilis with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Clofazimine
Clofazimine falls under ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS — the group Bacillus Subtilis interacts with.
Since B. subtilis preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. subtilis preparations by at least 2 hours.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: this interaction works against the probiotic, not against your Clofazimine. Clofazimine is an antibacterial medicine used mainly for leprosy and some hard-to-treat infections. Because Bacillus subtilis is a living, active bacterium, taking an antibiotic at the same time may kill off a good chunk of those probiotic organisms before they can do their job. So your Clofazimine still works as expected, but the supplement may not.
Good news, this is easy to manage. The usual advice is to space them out by at least 2 hours. Keep in mind this concern is theoretical, based on how the two work, not on strong studies. Since Bacillus subtilis is a live organism, anyone with a weakened immune system should check with their pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clofazimine page
“Clofazimine (Lamprene) treats leprosy for months or years, so anything that quietly drains its blood levels deserves genuine caution. Activated charcoal is the single major-rated interaction among the 64 on file, binding the drug and cutting how much reaches your body.”

About Bacillus Subtilis
What is Bacillus Subtilis?
- Digestive health and bloating
- Diarrhea support
- Immune support
- Gut microbiome balance
Bacillus subtilis is a spore-forming probiotic bacterium found in soil and some fermented foods, and it is used mainly to support gut health and digestion. Early research is promising for certain digestive and immune uses, but evidence is still limited and not strong enough to make firm claims. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a weak immune system.
About Clofazimine
What Is Clofazimine Used For?
Brand name: Lamprene
Lamprene (clofazimine) is used to treat lepromatous leprosy — the most severe form of leprosy (also known as Hansen's disease). This includes cases where the bacteria have become resistant to the antibiotic dapsone, and cases complicated by erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL), a painful inflammatory reaction that can develop during leprosy.
Lamprene must always be used as part of a combination regimen with other anti-leprosy drugs for initial treatment — it should never be used alone at the start of therapy, to prevent the bacteria from becoming resistant to it.

Clofazimine Is Linked to Lower Levels of 7 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Clofazimine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Bacillus Subtilis — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
