Amitriptyline, Perphenazine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.

Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA strongly inhibits CYP2D6.

This combination product pairs amitriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, with perphenazine, an older antipsychotic. Both rely heavily on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to be cleared from your body. Lab studies suggest BMPEA strongly blocks that same enzyme. If that holds true in people, your body could break these medicines down more slowly, letting levels build up.

Higher levels could mean more of their usual side effects: drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness on standing, and a faster or irregular heartbeat. On top of that, BMPEA is an amphetamine-like stimulant that can raise heart rate and blood pressure on its own, which is a worrying mix. To be fair, this is theoretical and based only on lab data, not human studies. Still, BMPEA is best avoided. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.

Triavil combines amitriptyline (an antidepressant) with perphenazine (an antipsychotic), and both rely partly on the liver enzyme CYP3A4 to be cleared out. In lab dishes, BMPEA blocked this enzyme by about a third. The theory is that less clearance could let these two medicines build up a bit, which might mean stronger side effects like drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness on standing, or a faster heartbeat.

Honestly, my bigger concern here is that BMPEA is a hidden amphetamine-like stimulant. Layering a stimulant on top of these drugs can stress your heart and blood pressure. This interaction is theoretical, based only on lab data, but BMPEA itself is best avoided. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.
