Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) + Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate
Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate brand names: E.E.S. 400, E.E.S. Chewable, Wyamycin S.
Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) has a moderate interaction with Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate. Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate
Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea with these two. Erythromycin is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab (test tube) studies, BMPEA appears to slow that enzyme down a bit. If it does the same in the body, your system could clear erythromycin more slowly, letting levels creep up. That could mean more of erythromycin's usual complaints, like stomach upset, nausea, cramping, or diarrhea, and in rare cases changes to your heart's rhythm (a QT effect).
I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based on lab data only, not real-world cases. On top of that, BMPEA is an unapproved, amphetamine-like stimulant that I'd steer clear of regardless. If you're using both, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before making any change.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Erythromycin Ethylsuccinate page
“Most people take erythromycin ethylsuccinate (E.E.S.) for a short course to clear an infection, often with a probiotic on the side. That does not make its 202 interacting ingredients low stakes; the nine rated major deserve a careful read first.”

About Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)
What is Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)?
- Weight loss
- Pre-workout energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
- Mental focus
Beta-methylphenethylamine (BMPEA) is a synthetic stimulant chemically similar to amphetamine that has been found in some weight-loss and sports supplements, often without being clearly listed on the label. It is not an approved or well-studied dietary ingredient, and regulators have warned that it may carry real cardiovascular risks. Because of safety concerns and the lack of human research, it is best avoided.
