Here's the gist for doxepin (Silenor when used for sleep): both this medicine and the dream herb Calea zacatechichi can calm down the brain. Doxepin already works by slowing brain activity to help you sleep, so adding something else with a sedating effect could stack on top of it. In plain terms, you might feel groggier, more drowsy the next morning, dizzy, or a bit foggy.

That said, this is a theoretical, minor concern based mostly on animal data and the way these things act in the body, not on solid human studies. It's not a dangerous combination on paper, but I'd still mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially since extra daytime grogginess can affect driving.
