Here's the gist: flurazepam already calms brain activity to help you sleep, and that's exactly where this herb could pile on. Calea zacatechichi seems to have its own mild calming (CNS depressant) effect, so using the two together could deepen flurazepam's sedation. In practical terms that might mean feeling more drowsy or groggy the next morning, being unsteady on your feet, or having trouble concentrating.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's a theoretical concern based on how each one works, not strong human studies, and it's rated as a minor interaction. Still, since flurazepam is long-acting and 'next-day hangover' is already common with it, I'd run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

What Is Flurazepam Used For?

Flurazepam Hydrochloride capsules are used to treat insomnia. Specifically, they help with difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups during the night, and early morning awakening.

Because insomnia is often short-lived, flurazepam is generally intended for short-term use. If sleep problems don't improve within 7 to 10 days of treatment, a healthcare provider should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition may be the cause.
