Here's the simple version: hydrocodone is a strong opioid pain reliever that already slows down your brain and breathing. Calea zacatechichi (the so-called dream herb) has been shown in animals and a few people to have its own mild calming, brain-slowing effect. Put the two together and the worry is that the sedation could stack up.

In real life, that might mean feeling extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unusually slowed down. I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how each one acts, not something proven in studies, and it's rated minor. Still, with a powerful opioid I'd play it safe. Please run this combination by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them, and skip the herb if you notice any added grogginess.
