Here's the gist for the dream herb and your aripiprazole shot (Aristada). This herb may have a mild calming or sedating effect of its own. Aripiprazole can already cause drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy in some people, so stacking the two together could, in theory, leave you feeling more tired or slowed down than usual.

I want to be upfront: this is a theoretical concern based on how the herb behaves in animals and a few people, not on solid human studies with this medication. It's rated minor. Aripiprazole isn't a prodrug here, so we're really just talking about two things that can both nudge you toward sleepiness. If you ever feel unusually groggy or unsteady, mention it to your pharmacist or prescriber before changing anything.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
