Here's the simple version. Insulin lispro is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that pushes your blood sugar down. The dream herb, Calea zacatechichi, has shown a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, but only in animal studies, not in solid human research. So the concern here is theoretical: if both nudge your sugar lower at the same time, you could in theory drop too low.

What that low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can feel like with insulin lispro: shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, dizziness, confusion, or feeling suddenly hungry. The risk here is rated minor, and the evidence is weak, so don't panic. Still, if you decide to try this herb, check your sugar a bit more closely at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know so they can help you watch it.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
