Here's the gist with Ingrezza (valbenazine) and the dream herb, Calea zacatechichi. Valbenazine already tends to make some folks feel drowsy or tired. Calea has shown calming, drowsiness-causing effects in animals and in a few people, so pairing the two could, in theory, leave you feeling sleepier or groggier than usual. You might also notice more trouble with balance or concentration.

I want to be straight with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on how each one acts, not something proven in real-world use. It's rated minor. Still, since Calea hasn't been well studied for safety, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and go easy until you know how you feel.

What Is Valbenazine Used For?

Brand name: Ingrezza

Valbenazine — sold as Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle — is approved for two conditions in adults. The first is tardive dyskinesia, a movement disorder that causes uncontrolled, repetitive facial or body movements, often brought on by long-term use of certain psychiatric medications. The second is chorea associated with Huntington's disease, which refers to the involuntary, dance-like jerking movements that are a hallmark of that condition.

Both Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle are approved for both of these uses.
