Ceritinib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Camphor interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of camphor with other hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage.
There have been a few case reports of transient elevations in liver enzymes in adults after oral or topical use of camphor. There has also been one case of hepatotoxicity in an infant after topical camphor use.

Here's the concern with ceritinib (Zykadia) and camphor: ceritinib is already known to be tough on the liver, and it commonly causes raised liver enzymes in people taking it. Camphor, in turn, has been linked in a handful of case reports to temporary bumps in liver enzymes, even from topical rub-on use. So the worry is simply that stacking two things that can stress the liver might add up.

To be honest, this is a theoretical caution based on how these work, not a proven, dangerous combo. Still, since your care team is likely already checking your liver bloodwork on ceritinib, it's worth telling your pharmacist or oncologist about any camphor products you use. Never swallow camphor, and let them decide what's safe.

An FDA-approved test must confirm ALK positivity before starting treatment.
