Nirogacestat falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Camphor interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of camphor with other hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage.
There have been a few case reports of transient elevations in liver enzymes in adults after oral or topical use of camphor. There has also been one case of hepatotoxicity in an infant after topical camphor use.

Here's the concern in plain terms: Nirogacestat (Ogsiveo), the pill used for desmoid tumors, can be tough on the liver on its own. It's already known to raise liver enzymes in some people. Camphor, mostly the rub-on kind for sore muscles, has been tied to a handful of reports of liver enzyme bumps too. So the worry is simply doubling up on things that can stress the liver at the same time.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical caution based on how these two behave, not a proven, common problem. Camphor isn't changing how your body clears nirogacestat, so this isn't about the drug getting stronger or weaker. Still, watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and never swallow camphor. Please run any camphor product past your pharmacist or oncologist first.

Ogsiveo (nirogacestat) is used to treat adults with desmoid tumors that are growing or progressing and require systemic (whole-body) treatment. Desmoid tumors are rare, locally aggressive growths that arise from connective tissue.

This indication is specific to Ogsiveo tablets taken by mouth. It is not approved for use in children, as safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients.
