These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Cnidium interacts with whole categories of medication. Ibuprofen, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Cnidium in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CNS DEPRESSANTS
1 of 2Why this applies to Ibuprofen, Hydrocodone
Ibuprofen, Hydrocodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cnidium interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The medication you're asking about pairs ibuprofen with hydrocodone, an opioid pain reliever. The hydrocodone half is the piece that matters here, since it already causes drowsiness and slowed breathing. In lab and animal studies, cnidium showed sedative effects, likely from its coumarin compounds. So the concern is simple addition: stacking cnidium on top of hydrocodone could deepen the sleepy, sluggish, foggy feeling.
I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical and based only on lab and animal work, not human studies. Still, since hydrocodone can already slow breathing, I'd play it safe. Watch for extra drowsiness, dizziness, or trouble concentrating, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
2 of 2Ibuprofen, Hydrocodone also falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the angle that matters with this combo product: the ibuprofen half is an NSAID, and NSAIDs already nudge up your bleeding risk on their own by making platelets less sticky and by irritating the stomach lining. Cnidium contains osthole, which in lab and animal studies also slows clotting and platelet activity. Stack the two and, at least in theory, you could bruise more easily, bleed a bit longer from a cut, or be more prone to stomach upset and GI bleeding.
I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is test-tube and animal research only, not proven in people, so don't panic. The hydrocodone part isn't the concern here. Still, if you're considering concentrated cnidium supplements alongside Ibucodone, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
