Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Benztropine
Benztropine falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Deanol interacts with.
Deanol is thought to increase acetylcholine levels.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the basic idea with these two. Benztropine works by blocking acetylcholine, the brain and body chemical involved in movement and muscle control. Deanol (DMAE) is thought to do the opposite, nudging acetylcholine levels up. So in theory, deanol could work against benztropine and make it a little less effective at controlling things like tremor, stiffness, or drooling.
The good news: this is only a theoretical concern. It's rated minor and unlikely, and it's based on how these compounds work on paper, not on real reports of problems in people. Still, if you ever notice your Parkinson's or tremor symptoms creeping back after starting deanol, that's worth mentioning. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding deanol rather than changing anything on your own.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.

Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Benztropine page
“People usually take benztropine (Cogentin) for Parkinson's tremor or for the stiffness and restlessness antipsychotic drugs can cause, and this is a supplement list to approach with genuine care. Three of its 46 interactions rate major: activated charcoal, which can soak the drug up in the gut before it works, and two alkaloid herbs, h…”

About Deanol
What is Deanol?
- Memory and focus
- Mood and mental clarity
- ADHD-type symptoms
- Skin firmness (topical)
- General brain health
Deanol (DMAE) is a compound related to choline that is marketed for memory, focus, and mood, but solid human evidence for most of these uses is limited or mixed. It can cause side effects in some people, and it should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding because its safety is not established. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.
About Benztropine
What Is Benztropine Used For?
Brand names: Cogentin, Cogentin Injection
Benztropine is used as an add-on (adjunct) treatment for all forms of parkinsonism. Parkinsonism means movement problems like those seen in Parkinson's disease.
It is also useful for controlling extrapyramidal disorders (drug-caused movement problems) due to neuroleptic drugs such as phenothiazines. It is not indicated for tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled muscle movements that can develop after long-term use of these drugs). The label lists these same uses for both the tablet and the injection.
