Here's the basic idea with Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) and deanol (DMAE). Dimenhydrinate works partly by blocking acetylcholine, a brain and body signaling chemical, which is how it calms motion sickness, nausea, and dizziness. Deanol is thought to do the opposite, nudging acetylcholine levels up. So on paper, deanol could slightly push against what dimenhydrinate is trying to do and make it a touch less effective at settling your stomach or balance.

I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, not something well documented in people. The interaction is rated minor and unlikely. Still, if you notice your motion sickness medicine isn't working as well while taking DMAE, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
