Elagolix Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Dhea interacts with.

Theoretically, DHEA might increase the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some preliminary evidence shows that DHEA may inhibit CYP3A4; however, the clinical significance of this potential interaction is not known.

Here's the gist for Orilissa (elagolix). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this medication. DHEA may slow that enzyme down a bit, so in theory your body could hang onto more elagolix than usual. If levels climb, you might notice more of its common effects, like hot flashes, headaches, nausea, trouble sleeping, or mood changes.

I want to be honest with you though: this is based on very weak, early evidence, and we really don't know if it matters in real life. Elagolix isn't a prodrug, so the concern is more drug building up rather than losing effect. Since DHEA is a hormone and Orilissa works on hormones, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Orilissa (elagolix) is used to treat moderate to severe pain associated with endometriosis — a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing significant pain.

This includes general pelvic pain as well as pain during sex (dyspareunia). How long you can take it depends on your dose and your overall health, so your prescriber will tailor the treatment duration to you.
