Theoretically, CYP3A4 inducers might increase the risk of adverse effects from the pyrrolizidine alkaloid (PA) constituents in dusty miller.
Dusty miller contains PAs. PAs are substrates of CYP3A4. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 might increase the conversion of PAs to toxic metabolites.

Here's the key thing to understand: this interaction isn't about your blood pressure medicine getting stronger or weaker. Aprocitentan (Tryvio) speeds up an enzyme in your liver called CYP3A4. That same enzyme is what turns the toxic compounds in Dusty Miller (pyrrolizidine alkaloids) into their harmful, liver-damaging forms. So by revving up that enzyme, Tryvio could theoretically make Dusty Miller more likely to hurt your liver, not the other way around.

I'll be honest with you: this is based on lab reasoning, not real patient studies, so it's more caution than proven danger. But Dusty Miller isn't considered safe to take on its own anyway. Please don't use any Dusty Miller product without first checking with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Aprocitentan Used For?

Brand name: Tryvio

Tryvio is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It is specifically for people whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on other blood pressure medications — it is always used together with at least one other antihypertensive drug, not on its own.

Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack. Tryvio has not been studied as a standalone treatment and is not intended to replace other blood pressure medicines.
