Here's the gist with these two together. Primidone is one of those seizure medicines that revs up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. That same enzyme is what turns the pyrrolizidine alkaloids in Dusty Miller into harmful, liver-toxic byproducts. So the concern isn't that Primidone stops working, it's that speeding up that enzyme could make the plant's natural toxins more dangerous to your liver.

I'll be straight with you: this is a theoretical worry based only on lab data, not real-world cases. But honestly, Dusty Miller isn't considered safe to swallow in the first place. My advice is to skip homemade Dusty Miller products and check with your pharmacist or doctor before trying anything made from it.

What Is Primidone Used For?

Brand name: Mysoline

Primidone tablets — sold as Mysoline or under the generic name primidone — are used to control seizures in people with epilepsy. Both Mysoline and primidone tablets are approved for grand mal (generalized tonic-clonic), psychomotor, and focal (partial) epileptic seizures.

Primidone can be used alone or alongside other anti-seizure medicines. It may also help control grand mal seizures that haven't responded well to other anticonvulsant treatments.
