Garcinia has a moderate interaction with Lomitapide. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Lomitapide
Lomitapide falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Garcinia interacts with.
There have been reports of acute hepatitis with elevated liver enzymes associated with garcinia, when taken alone or in combination with other ingredients. Case reports collected from the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network suggest this risk may be greater in people who carry the HLA B*35:01 allele.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the key thing about Lomitapide (Juxtapid): it's already known to be tough on the liver. It can raise liver enzymes and cause fat to build up in the liver, which is why people on it get regular blood tests to keep an eye on things. That's where Garcinia comes in. Garcinia has its own reports of liver irritation, even acute hepatitis in some folks, especially those carrying a certain genetic marker.
So the worry is simple: stacking two things that can each stress the liver may add up. This is a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves, not proof it will happen, so try not to panic. Still, given how carefully Lomitapide already has to be watched, I'd skip Garcinia and check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

About Garcinia
What is Garcinia?
- Weight loss
- Appetite suppression
- Curbing sugar and carb cravings
- Supporting metabolism
- Traditional cooking and souring agent
Garcinia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), widely marketed for weight loss and appetite control. The scientific evidence is weak and mixed, with most studies showing only small or no meaningful weight effects, and rare reports of liver problems raise safety concerns. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have liver issues, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
About Lomitapide
What Is Lomitapide Used For?
Brand name: Juxtapid
Juxtapid (lomitapide) is used alongside a low-fat diet and other cholesterol-lowering treatments — including LDL apheresis (a procedure that filters LDL from the blood) where available — to lower LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, and non-HDL cholesterol in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). HoFH is a rare, inherited condition that causes extremely high LDL cholesterol levels from birth.
Juxtapid is approved for use in adults and in children aged 2 years and older with HoFH. It has not been proven safe or effective for other types of high cholesterol, including the more common heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). Its effect on heart attacks, strokes, or other cardiovascular events has not been established.
