Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. Clinical research shows that berberine can lower blood glucose levels. However, this effect has not been reported with goldenseal.

Here's the simple version. Trulicity (dulaglutide) already does a good job of lowering your blood sugar. Goldenseal contains a compound called berberine, and in studies berberine can also nudge blood sugar down on its own. So in theory, stacking the two could push your numbers a little lower than expected, which raises the chance of hypoglycemia (think shakiness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or feeling confused).

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern. It's based on how berberine behaves, and the blood-sugar-lowering effect hasn't actually been reported with goldenseal itself. So don't panic. If you do decide to use goldenseal, just keep an eye on your blood sugar readings and let your pharmacist or doctor know before you start so they can guide you.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
