Glucose falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. Clinical research shows that berberine can lower blood glucose levels. However, this effect has not been reported with goldenseal.

Here's the thing about goldenseal and glucose: goldenseal contains berberine, and some studies show berberine can lower blood sugar. Glucose, on the other hand, is sugar you take to raise blood sugar, often used to treat or prevent a low. So in theory, goldenseal could work against what your glucose is meant to do, potentially leaving your blood sugar lower than you'd expect.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. This concern is theoretical, based on how berberine behaves, and the blood-sugar-lowering effect has not actually been reported with goldenseal itself. If you rely on glucose for lows, just mention the goldenseal to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
