Insulin Degludec, Liraglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. Clinical research shows that berberine can lower blood glucose levels. However, this effect has not been reported with goldenseal.

Xultophy combines two blood sugar lowering medicines: insulin degludec (a long-acting insulin) and liraglutide (a GLP-1 medicine). Both already work to bring your glucose down. Goldenseal contains berberine, and berberine on its own has been shown in studies to lower blood sugar too. So the concern here is simple addition: stacking goldenseal on top of Xultophy could push your numbers too low.

I'll be honest, this is theoretical and based on how berberine behaves, not on actual reports with goldenseal itself. Still, if you do use it, watch for low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion, and check your levels more closely. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding goldenseal so they can guide you.
