Goldthread + Warfarin
Warfarin brand name: Warfarin.
Goldthread has a moderate interaction with Warfarin. There's very preliminary evidence that berberine, a constituent of goldthread, might inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Warfarin
Warfarin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Goldthread interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for warfarin. The berberine in goldthread may gently slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the pathways that helps clear warfarin. If that enzyme runs slower, warfarin could linger longer in your system, which in theory could push your blood-thinning effect higher than intended. With warfarin, that matters a lot, because it has a very narrow safe range. Too much thinning can mean easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or more serious bleeding.
That said, this is only a theoretical concern based on lab work, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Still, warfarin is sensitive enough that I'd want you to check with your doctor or pharmacist first, and keep up with your regular INR blood tests.

About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand name: Warfarin
Warfarin helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. The label lists these uses for both Warfarin Sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets:
- Preventing and treating venous thrombosis (clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (clots in the lungs).
- Preventing and treating clot-related complications of atrial fibrillation and/or heart valve replacement.
- Lowering the risk of death, another heart attack, and clot-related events such as stroke after a heart attack.
Warfarin does not dissolve a clot that has already formed. It helps stop the clot from growing and prevents further clot-related complications.
