Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Goldthread interacts with.

There's very preliminary evidence that berberine, a constituent of goldthread, might inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for an increase in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking goldthread. Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), clarithromycin (Biaxin), indinavir (Crixivan), sildenafil (Viagra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use goldthread cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.

Here's the short version: goldthread contains berberine, and lab work hints that berberine may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Your omeprazole (the active part of Konvomep) is partly cleared by that pathway, along with CYP2C19. If goldthread blocks CYP3A4 even a little, omeprazole could hang around a bit longer in your body, which might nudge up side effects like headache, nausea, gas, or stomach upset.

Honestly, this is theoretical. It comes from test-tube and animal data, not real-world human reports, and a small amount probably won't cause trouble for most people. Omeprazole also has a wide safety margin. Still, if you're thinking about a concentrated berberine supplement, run it past your pharmacist or doctor first so they can keep an eye on things.
