The piece of this combo pill that matters here is the codeine. Codeine is a mild opioid that can make you sleepy, slow your breathing, and leave you feeling foggy or lightheaded. Griffonia seed extract supplies 5-HTP, which in studies has been linked to drowsiness on its own. Put the two together and the worry is simply that the sleepy, sedating effects could stack up and feel stronger than either alone.

To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something proven in solid human studies, so I wouldn't panic. Still, be cautious with driving or anything that needs full alertness, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you also take other medicines that affect serotonin.
