Here's the simple version: Primidone already tends to make people sleepy and a little foggy, since it calms down electrical activity in the brain. Griffonia seed extract supplies 5-HTP, which in studies has also been linked to drowsiness. Stack the two together and those sedating effects can pile up, so you might feel extra tired, dizzy, slowed down, or unsteady on your feet.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how both work, not something proven in head-to-head studies, so don't panic. Still, with a sedating seizure medicine like primidone it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Griffonia, especially if you drive or already feel groggy.

What Is Primidone Used For?

Brand name: Mysoline

Primidone tablets — sold as Mysoline or under the generic name primidone — are used to control seizures in people with epilepsy. Both Mysoline and primidone tablets are approved for grand mal (generalized tonic-clonic), psychomotor, and focal (partial) epileptic seizures.

Primidone can be used alone or alongside other anti-seizure medicines. It may also help control grand mal seizures that haven't responded well to other anticonvulsant treatments.
