Here's the gist with Hydrocodone and guarumo. Hydrocodone is a strong opioid pain reliever that already calms down your brain and nervous system, which is why it can make you drowsy, foggy, or slow your breathing. In one animal study, a water extract of guarumo also had a sedating effect, causing things like poor coordination and muscle relaxation. So the concern is simple: stacking two things that slow you down could add up.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from an animal study, not people, so this is more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, with an opioid involved, I'd play it safe. If you're considering guarumo tea or capsules while on hydrocodone, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch for extra sleepiness or grogginess.
