Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.

Some clinical evidence suggests that drinking tea prepared with guarumo leaf might lower blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Theoretically, guarumo might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Juvisync is a combo pill, and the part that matters here is the sitagliptin, which helps your body lower blood sugar after meals. Guarumo leaf tea has also shown some mild blood-sugar-lowering activity in small studies. Put them together and the effects can stack, so your glucose could dip lower than you expect.

The thing to watch for is low blood sugar (hypoglycemia): shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. Sitagliptin alone rarely causes this, but adding guarumo nudges the risk up. The evidence is fairly limited, so this isn't a reason to panic. The simvastatin part isn't really involved here. If you'd like to try guarumo, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.
