Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to pioglitazone, metformin
pioglitazone, metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Hydrazine Sulfate interacts with.
Animal research shows that hydrazine sulfate lowers blood glucose. Hypoglycemia has also been reported in some patients taking hydrazine sulfate during clinical studies. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: ActoPlus Met combines two diabetes medicines, pioglitazone and metformin, that already work to bring your blood sugar down. Hydrazine sulfate appears to lower blood sugar on its own. In animal studies it dropped glucose, and a few people in clinical trials had low blood sugar while taking it. So stacking it on top of your diabetes pills could push your sugar too low.
If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or unusually tired. Keep in mind this evidence is fairly limited and partly theoretical, but the concern is real enough to take seriously. Honestly, hydrazine sulfate isn't an approved treatment and carries nerve and liver risks of its own. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it.
