Canagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Hydrazine Sulfate interacts with.

Theoretically, taking hydrazine sulfate concomitantly with antidiabetes drugs could increase the risk for hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that hydrazine sulfate lowers blood glucose. Hypoglycemia has also been reported in some patients taking hydrazine sulfate during clinical studies. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the basic concern: hydrazine sulfate appears to lower blood sugar on its own. We've seen that in animal studies, and a few people in clinical trials had low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) while taking it. Canagliflozin (Invokana) also lowers your blood sugar by helping your kidneys flush out extra glucose in your urine. Stack the two together and you could end up lower than intended.

If your sugar drops too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or weak. Keep in mind this interaction is mostly theoretical, and honestly, hydrazine sulfate isn't a proven or recommended treatment for anything. Please don't change your Invokana or start this supplement without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.

About Canagliflozin

What Is Canagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Invokana

Invokana (canagliflozin) is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

In adults with type 2 diabetes, Invokana is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in those with established cardiovascular disease, and to reduce the risk of serious kidney complications — including end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, and hospitalization for heart failure — in those with diabetic kidney disease and high levels of protein in the urine.
