ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Iloprost
Iloprost falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Inositol Nicotinate interacts with.
Inositol nicotinate has fibrinolytic effects, which may increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about pairing this no-flush niacin with Iloprost (Ventavis). Iloprost does more than relax the blood vessels in your lungs. It also makes your platelets a little less sticky, so it has a mild blood-thinning side. Inositol nicotinate is thought to gently nudge the body toward breaking down clots too. Stack those two together and, in theory, you could bruise or bleed a bit more easily.
I'll be honest: this is a theoretical concern based on how the two work, not something proven in real patients, so I don't want you to panic. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.

About Inositol Nicotinate
What is Inositol Nicotinate?
- Cholesterol support
- Improving circulation
- Raynaud's phenomenon
- Intermittent claudication (leg pain with walking)
- A 'no-flush' niacin alternative
Inositol nicotinate is a 'no-flush' form of niacin marketed for cholesterol and circulation. Evidence that it works as well as regular niacin is weak and inconsistent, and it is not a proven replacement for prescription cholesterol treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have liver problems or take other medicines.
