Fluvastatin falls under HMG-CoA REDUCTASE INHIBITORS ("Statins") — the group Inositol Nicotinate interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of inositol nicotinate and statins might increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
Inositol nicotinate is metabolized to niacin in the body. Some case reports have raised concerns that niacin might increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis when combined with statins However, a significantly increased risk of myopathy has not been demonstrated in clinical trials.

Here's the gist with fluvastatin (Lescol) and this 'no-flush' niacin product. Once you swallow inositol nicotinate, your body slowly turns it into niacin. There have been a handful of older case reports suggesting that niacin plus a statin might raise the odds of muscle problems, ranging from achy, sore, or weak muscles up to a rare but serious breakdown of muscle tissue called rhabdomyolysis.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. It's mostly theoretical and based on scattered reports, and good clinical trials haven't actually shown a clear jump in muscle injury. So it's worth being aware of, not panicking over. If you ever notice unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, weakness, or dark urine, let your doctor or pharmacist know, and check with them before adding this supplement.

About Fluvastatin

What Is Fluvastatin Used For?

Brand names: Lescol, Lescol XL

Fluvastatin capsules are used alongside a low-cholesterol diet to lower total cholesterol, LDL-C (bad cholesterol), triglycerides, and a protein called apolipoprotein B, while raising HDL-C (good cholesterol), in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) or mixed dyslipidemia (multiple abnormal blood fat levels). Fluvastatin capsules are also approved for children and adolescents aged 10–16 with hereditary high cholesterol (heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia) when diet alone hasn't worked enough.

In adults who already have clinically evident coronary heart disease (CHD), both fluvastatin capsules and fluvastatin sodium extended-release tablets (including Lescol XL) are used to slow the buildup of plaque in coronary arteries and reduce the risk of needing coronary revascularization procedures (procedures to restore blood flow to the heart). Fluvastatin sodium extended-release tablets and Lescol XL are also approved to reduce LDL-C in adults with primary hyperlipidemia, and in patients aged 10 and older with hereditary high cholesterol who specifically require the higher daily dose.
